Fiesta

It’s the end of school and what better way to celebrate our final days than with a Mexican fiesta and a studio restaurant?  It was a fun, festive, fabulous day.

The Art of Mistake making

"I made a mistake." A child stands before me, shoulders stooped, eyes downcast and speaks these words in a defeated whisper. I know it's time to pull out a book.

Beautiful Oops, by Barney Saltzberg, is one of my favorites!  Together we read how artists might respond to mistakes, mishaps or flaws.
So, how does an artist respond to unplanned problems that arise in the creative process?...

Creatively!!!!  In fact MISTAKES are possibilities in disguise that exercise our creativity and resourcefulness!  By the end of our story time her shoulders are thrown back with determination and confidence, ready to begin.

The Art of Playful Learning: This Year’s Art Show

Thank you to all the families who contributed to making this year's art show such a huge success!  Your help with matting work, hanging art and sharing delicious food for our celebration made it all happen.  I am so grateful to each of you.  The show will be on display for two more weeks, so if you weren't able to see it during the opening please swing by the school for a walk through.
