I can think of few things I'd rather be doing than exploring nature's artistry and beauty alongside children! Today I visited the Denver Botanic Gardens with several of my young friends. Together we oooh'ed and ahhhh'ed over flowers, art installations and more. Here are a few pics from our day...
This blown glass sculpture by Chihuly inspired the children to practice some observational drawing. The piece was titled, "Colorado, 2014" and we thought the name a bit dry so the children suggested a few more descriptive titles, including: Spike, Porcupine, Porcupine on Fire and Sunbeam.
These two artists were inspired by a gorgeous foxglove growing in one of the Asian gardens.
After some discussion we decided to round out our trip with a visit to the Koi Pond.
It was a wonderful day in the city!
