Happy spring break

The children and I spent the first day of spring examining the beauty and wonder of new life growing in the back yard.

I hope you each have an opportunity to do the same in the week ahead. Children provide a lens of curiosity, enthusiasm and wonder that helps to focus our adult experience toward the beauty of life all around us. Enjoy your break and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Fondue... what's not to love?

In a fondue pot mix together gruyere cheese tossed with cornstarch, chicken broth in place of wine and a squeeze of lemon.  Mix and melt. Devour! YUMMY!!!!

Animals everywhere... are people animals? Certainly.

The whole school is studying animals and the studio is no exception.  The children have been employing their collage skill to create animals of all shapes and sizes... including the human varieties.

Similarly, while Amy was in the studio, animals took center stage.
Stay tuned to watch this study develop!

Pitching in

This is the children's studio and they take pride in it.  Cleaning is not a teachers' task.  On the contrary,  the practical activities necessary for maintaining our shared spaces are eagerly shared by the children.  And accidents happen. Things spill, fall and even break. When we meet them with a willingness to pitch in, we leave our shared space more beautiful than we found it.
Now what if we approached our beautiful blue planet and communities in the same way, how might our shared future be different?
